That's BA as hell but I think that might be a little much on the front of your essentially stock 1/2 ton. Go baller status and get a Ranch Hand front end replacement. Just whatever you do, don't do a bull bar. No offense to anyone that has one, but they are meh at best. Some trucks pull them off better than others, wich the Ford does, but at the end of the day, you still have a flimsy peice of aluminum that only has 4 bolts in it.

I wouldtake a bull bar over a brush guard any day unless its a Onki brush guard and only stainless steel. SS comes with lifetime warranty....Black comes with 1 year warranty. and for good reason too...you live in SETX where salt is in the air we breathe!
SS BG FTW!!!!

what kind of truck do you have? a 150? dude remember what ever you get needs to be suspension friendly!
If you are looking for a decent brushguard go with a westin sportsman (that is the style lenn has) westin also makes an amazing bull bar
or you can drop a $G ($1000) and get the top of the line stainless Onki Brushguard
I HATE the one I have. IIRC, its the Westin "Classic" and it looks like something that came outta the late 80's.

the brushguards are not for protection either...very flimsy still, if you want protection then go with a top gun baja bumper or even ranchhands summit series...but anything westin offers is not going to protect you....I think Go. Industries makes something called a big tex that is pretty solid

I think I might just drop my truck off at my dads work. he is a machinist and said he could make me an iron bull/road armor style bumper with the scrap metal they have laying around at the shop. I would just have to be without my truck for at least a week and its my DD.

he still hasn't had a chance to start on it, when I went over there for fathers day he said that he saw stuff he built on the underwater cams for the oil spill.
