This is what I was talking about! How boring my nights would be if I didn't have little blind bastards like him to fuck around with

You should have just saved the money you spent on your kit and just drive around with your high beams on instead, it's just as annoying and dangerous.

Do you want this?

From my experience, it all depends on the car as to whether a PnP HID kit would be blinding in a reflector housing. It's not bad at all on the newer Civics (as long as you don't have blue/purple lights). However, HID's on trucks or other vehicles that sit higher than everyone else is one of the most annoying and dangerous things I see on the road. It's blinds everyone and is just retarded.

With that being said...my S2000 projector / E46 shroud setup:

I love S2K projectors, especially when modded!

And there are FAR more cars out there that are wasting light throwing it all over the place and blinding oncoming traffic than not.

Thanks! They're CM1 (one washer) so there's a purple/blue/white band in the cutoff.

Agreed. I also don't understand all the 12k+ setups. HIDs are supposed to give more light. When you go above 4300k, the light output actually decreases....so you're defeating the point. I understand some that run 6500K setups (I did this for a while) for the very slight blueish hue, but the pink and purple are :mattsgay:.

I saw a white Olds-mo-bubble Achieva (sp) in the parking lot near CiCi's that had at least a 12k kit in it with black covers over the lights... WHY? I guess the Blade wheels and Continental spare kit with a Blade wheel was supposed to be a dead give-a-way for answering that question, but damn.

Oh, and it was about 9 at night when I saw this. The damn turn signal put out more light than his headlights did.

i really dont care what people think, i have pnp hids and i am happy with them, its what i wanted to do so i did it, so if any body has a problem with it they can because its not their car, i dont see what the big deal is they look fine to me and i dont blind people with mine

My PNP's (although expensive) have GREAT light output... when they are working properly. ;)

I haven't had any complaints or people flashing their high beams at me since I've been running my 6k pnp HID's. It might help that I'm running them in OEM Lightning headlights, which aren't made for HID's but do have a cover over the bulb.

Id rather look at pnp HIDs than some assclown with the brights on. If you are blinding someone it takes alot more than 2 seconds driving down the highway to get past them. Shits annoying.. Now again, I dont have that much hateraid for pnp hids... unless they are HID and angled retardedly high. To counter that shit I had one of those idiotically bright light flood lights in my car when I was commuting to Houston every day from Beaumont. Then we could both be blind as we crashed into each other :beavisbutthead: That was reserved for the fuckers running brights.

I think I am going to install some pnp HIDs into my current daily, but it has stock projectors and a nice cutoff so I shouldn't blind people. If I keep it anyway.

My buddy used to have a truck with one of those in it. When people would be assholes and tailgate (like literally 1 ft from the bumper), we'd turn that sucker on and made sure they backed off. Slide open rear window ftw.

I can't remember the candle power that thing was, but it was in the hundred thousands. Shit could literally blind you.

You may think you don't, but I assure you that you ARE blinding other drivers. Many times I'll notice I left my brights on when I'm parking and realize that not a single driver flashed me to let me know. Just because you're not getting flashed, doesn't mean you're not blinding people. One thing I noticed about drivers here in Texas is they tolerate shit like that a lot more then the drivers back in California do.

But hey, as long as you're happy! Just take a look at those pictures up top and imagine how happy you'd be with a quality retro. It isn't ungodly expensive to do it yourself, and there are PLENTY of write-ups online to guide you along.

Check out www.hidplanet.com, it's a very good resource.

Like I said above, just because you're not getting flashed, doesn't mean it isn't distracting to other drivers. A friend of mine back in California did a retro on his L and it turned out BEAUTIFUL! I convinced him to ditch his shitty PnP kit and do the retro himself.

fuk that my pink hid's were the shit

:faint:

Notice the glare on the drivers side light? And how much more light is on the ground on the passenger side with the halogen?

I realize this shit is falling on deaf ears because all of you think what you have is good enough, but for those who truly want to improve your visibility and have the added safety that a good HID retro gets you will realize how lame these kits are if you take the initiative and do a retro! Get a second pair of lights(eBay even!) and then take a look at pictures and see which ones you want to go with and then start collecting the parts!

I can attest to the power of a good retro.

My Talon I had back in the day got a set of ebay projectors with tilting Bi-Xenon's from a 2006 Volvo S40 T5 that we had at our dealership that was wrecked. It took my damn near 2 months of work to get the housings modified to fit the motors and actuators for the tilting feature and then fabbing up the bracketry to allow the equipment to bolt into the light.

A shit ton of work (but I went extreme) but the end result was AMAZING. I sold the car for less than I had invested in the lights- timewise- unfortunately.

Hehe... Thanks Jordan. Not bad for a 1995 ESi, huh? I sunk ALOT of money into that car. They gave me $800 for it in THAT condition on trade in. I still kick myself in the ass for trading it in.
