So I put a stepdown and wired my brother's Mercedes C240 up for a system for whenever he puts it in. I didn't want to put an aftermarket cd player in right now 'cause i didn't want to mess w/ the hassle of finding fiber optics for the OEM cd changer and buyin' the harness for the steering wheel controls.
If anyone has ever taken apart the dash to a mercedes...you guys know it's no joke about the tricks. it's simple but alot things you can miss! Here's a very nice link for disassembling a '04-'05 C240 dash! http://c32life.com/C32removingtheRadio.doc
some pics of taking apart this bad boy!
After taking the kick panels off the side, the carpet folds nicely over and has a location to put wires through the firewall where the power wires and what not are already running through.

This is a closer look under the dash where I cleanly took it apart.

This is pretty easy to do with the link that I posted up. The vents are pretty neat in hiding the torx screws and clips that hold it all in and the spring-clips on the bottom of the wood grain!

After all this it's quite easy. The rear speaker wire colors that I tapped the stepdown into are pink and pink/brown for the left and white and white/brown for the right!
