View Full Version : Next track outing?

So for those that do actually drag race, when is the next track outing gonna be? Arjay and I are itching to get back to one.
Evadale isn't open quite yet, and HRP is only open on Fridays now apparently, which btw is fkn lame. I'm game for either track.
I'm kind of wanting to get my car on the track and see what my new set up will do before I up the shot and change some things.
I'd like to see what a 4banger can do with a direct port 250shot.
I didn't know where else to post this at lol.
And of course I'm only expecting about 5 people to SERIOUSLY post in this thread since that about the total of people that actually half care to drag race lol.

I'll be going out to the track regularly once I get my next part for the car.It should be on in about 3 weeks or so.

Haha, no; that'll be after I get my career going. Just long tube headers with xpipe no cats and cai. Also, new tires should make a difference.

Haha, yea. Everytime I gun it, it sounds like I'm bout to blow something up. I just don't like the ratlling noise it makes when its idleing. Imma ask them (g-force motorsports) bout it when i get it dynotuned.

What's the new set up?

What's the new set up?
Nothing new. I broke a rocker arm a while back and have been feet dragging since then. Put the rockers back on and it was ticking from the same valve that the rocker arm broke on. I thought there was something wrong so I pulled the head only to find nothing out of the ordinary.
I don't think I ran it long enough with the new rockers for the lifter to pump back up, thus the ticking. I just look forward to driving it around again. It really rides nice when the shocks are turned down and the cutout is closed. Feels like the V with a better shifter............ and a 300 shot lol..........

No chance. I want to get the motor back together (just needs the rockers/intake) and make sure it's running smoothly. I then need some new front brake rotors, new rear tires, and a new exhaust cutout.

Whats wrong with g force?
I wasn't impressed with my car after they tuned it. It had really shitty drive ability. After Pushrod started tuning on it it was 10 times better. Greg had his supercharged vette tuned there and that only change about 5 things from the stock tune. One of the things they changed was desensitizing the knock sensors. It blew up not long after. Casey also put a rough tune in a friends car just so it would drive good enough to get to G-force for a dyno tune. The car made 6 more hp that only cost $500 bucks. I'm not impressed with them. I would give LMR a shot but would make sure I was up there while they tuned it to make sure they took their time.

I have seen several hack jobs from there.
Sluggish's cam only tune.
Gregs s/c 'vette that detonated its way to several broken pistons (knock sensors set to -1* max). Not a very good idea with a Magnuson PD blower, Texas heat, and 10.9:1 compression ratio (stock LS2). I put back to stock, then tuned for his n/a 427ci LS3 stroker.
Jason's car that I made an absolute GUESS at in his garage so that it would be drivable to make it there, made 6 more hp on their dyno than my baseline. He had a "lifetime tune" from them from back before I started tuning, so he said what the hell lol. It was just a cam only + bolton car, which I'm sure he does 5 of per day.
Mark's TBSS, cam/stall/headers. Shifting at 5600rpm, knocking, and tq converter locking/unlocking erratically. They even road tuned this one (it's AWD) and still didn't address the issues.
The problem with most tuner shops is that they make the same amount of money if they spend 30 minutes or 4 hours. They have no incentive to do a good job. I'm sure many of them can do GREAT tuning work, but they just choose not to. 95% of the people who leave there will never have the opportunity to find out how crappy of a tune they received.

sometimes it's not the tuner. For instance look at Marcus' car. Tony tuned it the other day and it run like total shit, my 200HP all motor CRX pulling harder than the fully built turbo car. Sometimes you just can't polish a turd when it is as rigged up as Marcus' car. Hopefully Marcus did some turd cleaning before his latest tune so his car will run right this time.
Marcus keeps wanting me to go race him this friday. I told him I ought to be like him and all the others who talk trash then just go to the track to watch. I can make fun of him if things don't go his way:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: (of course this is under the assumption he actually goes and runs his car)

damn that sucks, who would you recommend to tune the car when it gets the new motor, l92 headed 370 with a big shot? I might be trading my patriot heads for a 30k mile lq4.
