They are still around. A guy I bought some crap from a while back was rocking one of their ported heads and some s/c cams (lol), they aren't as well known as they once were (at least to my knowledge).

seem like they just kinda faded away huh.
I think the current trend is to get head porting and machine work done locally, then order the stuff from whoever gets you the best price and quality.
There are so many different "right" ways to build something now days compared to back in the day.

There are very few people that I would trust to port a head for me. Just like there are very few people I will trust tuning my or my friend's cars.

what happened is more people started to get into the honda game. the aftermarket slowy started to not be so privatized by the same 10 companies and people started doing their own work. hell look at how many companies there are that make b series turbo manifolds, all with barely different designs that people swear offer better results over the next guy. hell if the nissan game ever had the support the honda game does omfg where we could be right now lol.

another thing I notice about many of the Honda guys is that when we didn't have aftermarket support for stuff we needed, we made the shit. Many even made careers out of the stuff they made. Some just can't break through the mindset that they MUST get some sort of premade kit or harness to do whatever it is they want to do.
