My power locks just stopped working. Key fob still activates the horn etc like its locked, but the locks dont move. i dont think its a actuator problem, since its BOTH locks at once. the switch gets current, they light up and dim or whatever. but they dont unlock or lock when pressed. any ideas? car is a 2005

i don't think it'd be the fuses if it's getting power. I'm leaning towards it being the actuator. the driver side would control both locks with a remote for the locking. Like if you were to press down the driver side lock and all doors lock but if you press down only a passenger door lock only that door locks, none of the other ones.

its not the actuators, because if they were out id be willing to bet they'd freeze. i found the fuse that controls the locks, for some reason the locks are popping the fuses. theres a short some where

No if your lock actuators are out they won't freeze, they'll still be able to lock/unlock, just manually. Although I am betting one is toasted and probably throwing the fuse, just a guess. I replaced one on my f150 with a $7 ebay china actuator and it wasn't that bad.

yeah i was hoping this car didnt live up to the "mustang are pieces of shit" stereotype. a car is a piece of shit if you treat it that way. looks like i suck as an owner hahaha

Or you just ran into some bad luck.
Surprisingly, the only problem i ever ran into with my car was an IACV going bad on me. My Stang has been reliable :D

prob. bad luck. so far though, the only thing thats gone wrong is the drive by wire sensor. had to replace the throttle body.
