Not exactly. My best interpretation is this is the attempt by Lexus at a supercar. 4.8L v-10, 550 hp, electronic gizmos out the wazoo and a $350,000+ price tag.
Don't get me wrong--cool car.......but $350 large is a LOT of coin. I guess I am really starting to show my age when I see that gauge cluster. I mean, yeah, it does some really neat stuff, but other than RPM, oil pressure, temp......what else do I really NEED? I think about the nightmares these cars are going to be 20 years down the road. No parts/spares, electronic gremlins everywhere. Maybe we won't have any gas to burn anyway...who knows.

Yeah, been looking into this a lot more today. Definitely a supercar.
They're saying that it's up to 3 secs faster than the Mercedes SLR at Nuremberg.
Nice car fo sho... Not $350k-$400k nice though. I am also DEEPLY saddened by the torque output of that engine.

and even with that price tag they will still lose money on every sale. Extremely limited production and stupidly high R&D costs.

Toyota is talking about just leasing the car. They want the car to be driven and not be a garage queen.
