The people on "Twist The Throttle" were talking about just how fast you can actually ride a Goldwing the other day. I know nothing about bikes, but apparently the Goldwing used to be faster than all the sport bikes back in the day lol.

They showed them balancing a nickle on edge on the valve cover with the engine running too. Pretty impressive.

Yeah, I saw that episode. The idle is so smooth that they could balance that nickel. And that makes it the epic cruising bike that it is.

I recall riding with a guy back in Missouri that worked for the local Honda/Harley dealer that raced AMA in the 750 class. He would bring out goldwings and full dressers from the shop and ride with us (mostly liter sport bikes). He would routinely be near the front of the pack on the full dressers and scraping pegs, exhaust, hangers, etc with sparks flying off at dusk. On the straights he couldn't keep pace, but in the twisties, he was all there. Good memories.
