yeah it's pretty standard to be able to make that much power on a K series motor, especially on a Mustang Dyno. I'd be more worried if a smaller turbo was used to get a fat-ass power curve, then backpressure might make the motor go bye-bye. Bigger turbo's may have shitty powerbands, but they help stock motors live longer.

I saw this on h-i, I believe thats the most a new si has made so far, but I could be wrong

At least someone knows this LOL

The thing that get me is that its totally stock power plant! How reliable would this thing be for a daily driver on pump gas?

SS probably wouldn't sell it if it weren't reliable enough for a daily driver. K-series are tough.

On pump you would be on borrowed time if you run the roads at this power level every day.

i run like 300 whp daily lol at like 5 lbs

thats pretty safe, but we're not talking about running 300whp daily here arjay..haha. im sure he runs on less boost for everyday DD-ing.

ya know mike tha video does say that its a stock power plant but they do not say wut kind of fuel they used for tha dyno.

so i wonder if it was race fuel?

its straight 93 pump gas on a return fuel system. i would say running that kit on their 350-400 whp map would be ok. i think its only running at like 12 lbs.

Running that turbo at its upper limit for DD would not be a wise decision. its only a tad bit bigger of the one that they maxed out at 471 whp. It's a very good kit though b/c they have a very very very CONSERVATIVE tune for it

That dude maxed out the turbo. That turbo is rated different for the garret series. Its sorta out of the efficiency range. They rate it smaller than a garret gt30 from what their discussing on our boards.

i envy honda's aftermarket support.. we get support thats ditches a platform when things get too hard =_=

The turbo they were running was the equivalent of a sc44. This turbo that they are running right now on the 512 whp tune is bigger but not by much.

Unless it was somewhere in the video, the only thing I saw was stock block . . . meaning stock sleeves . . . does that turd have forged internals?

I'm pretty sure it is a bone stock, unopened motor.

Same components as a z1 just a few more additions. Same internals but they have different cams, dbw, and a few more that escapes me. Their tranny set up is a bit more boost friendly though.

I was suprised his revs didn't spin faster. I could hear the boost, and it sounded powerful; but it didn't spin as quickly as I thought it should with that much force in the engine. Anyone want to educate me on why this is?

It's on a dyno dude. LOL Dyno = load On the street that thing would spin it's ass off and rev up like a damn bike.

I have nothing but respect for the guys at SSA. Aj had his car dyno tuned by Chris and he did an amazing job. Afterwards he walked Aj through on what all he did and made sure he got all the features that he wanted (anti-lag, launch control, etc,) and understood how they worked. I think the 500hp was more of them showing what is possible and not what you should run around on the street with.

650 whp was done on a stock k20z1 on c16. Yes it still runs.
