I always enjoy working on cars, and now that I have a steady income (and time to do stuff) I decided to get a place to work on cars. It is more of a hobby for me, but I hope to try to at least make rent back out of the place by doing some side jobs every now and then.

My family owns EPS, right down the street from there (on Westwood). Make sure you locks that place up tight at night is all I have to say lol. That trailer park down the street is a haven for people who like to fuck shit up.

yeah I figured I would have to keep everything on lock down. I'm thinking about making some bars for both doors and blocking off the small window before I start putting easily stolen stuff in there.

I would highly suggest that. Getting through the roll up would be too tough, but I would highly secure the regular door(s) and the window. You may look into renters insurance, especially if you're going to have people leave their cars there.

Some crack head tried to ram their car through our front gate one night, car got stuck, so he just left it there lol. Some thieves also stole one of my dads cars during the middle of the day while everyone was at work within rock throwing distance.

I really like it as well but plus one about the concern for thieves around there as well. My gf's shop is right at that same location and there are random people always wandering around day and night.

right now I need to change out the waterpump and timing belt on this Izuzu Rodeo I got. Also I'm still getting my rex ready to drive around. I'm pretty busy doing the whole PhD research thing with school, but I do spend some time working at the shop too.

I managed to build the most ghetto shelving unit ever, and I am about to yank the motor out of the rex so I can change out the transmission casing that has a small crack.

yesterday Matticus and SheaAP1 passed by to lend a helping hand. I yanked my motor out of the rex, then needed to change out the transmission casing. Instead of working on the floor (or ground) like back in the day, we built a little workbench first. I changed out the casing, reassembled everything and we put the motor back in the rex. It sounds loud as shit inside the metal building LOL. I also moved my welder to the shop. Now it's time to practice welding stuff. I need to find some scrap metal to get practice on.

I'll probably be there this weekend. I'd like to get some friends together and BBQ or something. I've just been so dang busy with the whole research thing along with getting stuff done for the shop. I'll be there tomorrow morning also, but just to get the rex ready to go back home to ILR for Huy to get me a header and throw the rex on the dyno for a tune. Right now it's on a base map to crank up and make sure there is no check engine light.

nah I already have access to one already. If I somehow do get a buttload of business (not sure if I would have time with the research work I'm doing for my PhD) then I would consider getting one, though. When it's all said and done I will have a full blown shop on my property with a dyno and everything needed to fabricate and tune whatever I have. But that will be a few years down the road.

sweet!!! when u do get one...the most versitile dyno and probably the highest return on profit to consider would be an AWD dyno... u can dyno trucks and be the only AWD dyno in town so all the businesss would go to you. Just my .50 cent.

I don't really drink beer so if I had some in the fridge it would be for visitors.

Now I'm in the middle of finishing my engine harness on the rex. The engine harness is complete except for the wire loom and now all I need to do is mount my fusebox and get a battery box for inside to complete the wiring. Then it's on to the front crossmember, a header and tuning. I also still need to get a new o-ring for that pesky #2 injector.
