I interviewed for a great new job last week and feel pretty confident the job will be mine. I will keep my 250r for track days and around town fun, but I want a bigger middleweight bike. I've been reading everything I can find on the suzuki sv650sf and the yamaha fz6. I like the way the yamaha looks and the way I sit on the suzuki. The yamaha sits nice too, but I think the suzuki is more track focused and the yamaha is more of an all arounder. The yamaha feels like it's built better on initial inspection too, plus it has 20hp more than the suzuki ( inline 4 from the r6 vs a suzuki fi vtwin ). Has anyone ridden a recent version of either of these that you could share ridding experience or 1st hand insider knowledge? Thanks!

i say you hop to the r6,...i would love a new r1 personally but i gave up riding,...i've gotten older and i guess i have matured,...its just to risky now days, but if your set on one of those personally i think you will like the fz6, I rode it,..not to appealing in style but all around power and handling is ok,...just my opinion.

I think I've settled on the sv650s. I visted a dealership that had both, and I felt more at home on the suzuki. The r6 is badass, my friend has an 09 and I enjoyed my ride on it, but I'm not wanting a super sport bike.

I'm picking up a new but leftover 2008 candy plasma blue Kawasaki zzr600 this weekend. Can ya'll believe the difference in ins between this bike and an 09 zx6r is almost 2.5 grand a year, but only very slightly higher than my 09 ninja 250r? Yet, the zzr6 will run low 11 sec 1/4 miles at 120 + all day and tops out near 160mph. Explain that one to me someone.

Edit to my last post. I am actually picking up tomorrow evening. They are letting me have the 08 zzr6 for $6500, my insurance cost is only $90 a month ( as opposed to $300 on the zx6r ), and they are taking my 250r as trade in at $2500. I know I could sell for more, but it's too much hassle and I just want to get the new bike and start riding asap. :D

I know I could have sold it on my own for more, and I wanted to shop other dealers, but this dealer was the only one I could find within reasonable riding distance that had a NEW zzr600. They gave me a good price on the new bike, and I don't owe any $$ on the 250r, so I took the deal.

Sure thing. I've tried to post up pics before of my 250r and si, but it always rejects my files. I'm not too savy with photos, so maybe you can instruct me on what to do?

maybe set up a photobucket account if you don't already have one. Actually you can put them on your myspace or facebook page, right click them, select properties, then copy the url. Then on here when posting a message, click the little yellow and grey box that looks like it has a mountain on it (says insert image). Paste the URL when it asks for it and you should be done.

Well, I'll try again tomorrow. I picked up the zzr600 and am loving it. Its such a more responsive machine than that 250. It is effortless and without even giving it much throttle I got it from 80 to 130 in 6th gear in what felt like 5 seconds or so. The bike is awesome and I can't wait to get better in the corners on it, because I was surprised that it didn't turn in as easy as the 250, but I am sure with practice I'll learn to be much better with it. I think I went into the corner too high a gear, cause I was used to taking my old bike through the same corner in 3rd, and maybe this bike needed 2cd? Lots of time to practice though! :D
