Should be here on June 29th :beavisbutthead:
My first swap, and im moving to colorado for college so if any of you would like to lend a hand in the swap it would be appreciated.
I know its not that hard but i dont have the jacks and jack stands for the swap and renting it all is just more $ i dont need to spend.

Not sure if you care or not but Colorado does emission testing. Have you checked to see if that is going to cause problems once you get there after swapping a motor? I lived in Colorado Springs sometime ago. My shit was exempt so I didn't have to deal with that.

Did you order the PO8 ecu with it because if you didnt you will have to get a chipped ecu with PO8 maps on it for the D15b to run 100% right......you can get phearable.net to chip a ecu with the PO8 maps....i mean you could run a stock p28 but you will have some idling issues and some times at idle it will rev up a little on its own.....but i am sure someone on here will hate and say i am wrong and i dont know anything but i am telling you the truth and you can look it up yourself....i wish i would of known then what i know now about the d15b because i would have figured out the issues i was having and still have the motor in the hatch driving it

also you should join D-series.org for any other d15b swap questions..... since there wasnt that type of d15b stateside you will use some d16z6 parts like the pumps and tensioner and anything to do with the head and some VX model civic parts like timing belt....if you have any questions hit me up

No i didnt because i wanted to keep my MPG for the drive up there then when i save a little $ and im tired of the lack of power and vtec then ill just buy a p08.

Another reason why i didnt get it with the motor. They wanted too much, figured i could get a used one somewhere else cheaper.

hey I have a p06 for sale, already socketed =)
a chip will run you $35 and the parts to have vtec added on to the p06 is about $20, as shown in link below.
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=p06+vtec&_sacat=See-All-Categories
PM me if your interested in it.
D15b's are some pretty strong single cams, with the right tranny it would pull an LS in the same chasis as the D15b. The ole 'Sol that Manny (then Matthew) had, pulled nicely with that motor.

the jdm d15b has a more aggressive cam, and a little bit higher compression ratio, and like andrew said can pull ls swapped hatches easily....

lol it a bad wow, going to all the trouble to just get what 5hp difference lol... got love honda owners and their jdm tight shit :rotfl:. My opinion if your going to go to the trouble of actually changing out a engine please put something back that you can say, damn i noticed a big difference. Maybe a gsr motor or even a b16 but to take out a d15 to but another d15 its like braking up with a retarded g/f and then turn around and go out with another retarded chick :slap:. You could of also slap a turbo on the bitch lol... but is your car and your money and this is my 2cents.

hah well someone said it for me..i was thinking the same tihng..swapping a d-series for another d-series?:confused: more aggressive cams or not.. imo, i think another motor, say a B, H, or K wouldve been a more effective choice to go with especially since you're planning on selling the car, you would've gotten more from a b swapped hatch than a single cam hatch but its your car your choice just my .2 cents.

a jdm d15b is a very good motor...it has a very aggressive cam for stock and also has a great flowing head....and you can also rev to 8.5k to 9k on stock valvetrain.....and if yall dont believe that then yall can ask AJ and Josh

Eric just relax with the whole p28 vs p08 ecu thing. Its a single cam.. seriously.. how much potential can it have in stock form that it would really make that much difference with a simple map change. A little idle jump is nothing to go crazy about.
Also nobody is really dogging the motor its self although you keep trying to back it up saying how good it has and whats better about it then another D15/16. Everyone is just disagreeing with the fact that Chase actually spent money on ANOTHER single cam, regardless JDM with vtec and blah blah blah or not. Simply he could have gotten "more bang for his buck" with that money.
I have not looked into this any further then it being a single cam but 5hp can be a noticeable difference between the two motors. Thats a claimed 5 peak hp above the other, but if it was 5hp higher across the whole power band then a small difference can be seen in a simple race. Even then its still nothing to go crazy about.
Chase you should have gone a different route since you went JDM. Lol Not quite a single cam but not much different from one either, the dual cam ZC motor. That would be pretty different for lil' ole beaumont texas.

Im not doing it for the power, I got the complete swap w/tranny for 1k. I wanted something with less miles and the price for complete B swap just did not appeal to me. The fact that the motor is JDM, cool but not why i bought the motor. In the end if i want power i can def get it out of this D, having a 400whp SOHC would be pretty sweet IMO.
