Oil Leak?

Not sure where to post this but lately I've been getting a burning smell from my motor. Can't be excess oil burning because I haven't touched the oil in some months. The smell gets more pronounced under heavier load, so when I'm driving normally, i can barely smell it.

Andrew and Matthew told me it's an oil leak but I wanted to see everyone else's responses. If it is an oil leak, where should I start checking first?

Well if you smell oil and you havent touched the oil in months wouldnt you wanna check the oil just in case?

Just start looking over your engine completely.. You'll notice a leak if one is present

First Things I would check would be......
leaking valve cover gasket
head gasket
but it could also be a front or rear main seal leaking onto your exhaust and burning it off that way giving the burning oil smell. just my idea.

I never that that "it is" and oil leak fool haha Just to check for one. Can you describe the smell? Gas, oil, plastic and other shit all have a different smell when its burning. If its enough oil to the point that you'd be able to smell it then you may notice small oil spots below the car if it has been sitting for a while, look under the car for any puddles too. I know we get lots of cars at work with built up oil n other crap on the motor but you cant smell it, so if your is an oil leak you'd prolly be able to see it or see it puddling on the ground. Just a thought. -- Oh shit I just realized I'm posting on Jennifers computer n name lols.
