^Yeah it was. That was my first time going, but they said it's usually a much bigger turnout...100+ cars. It's all good though, it was still a nice day to be outside.

Not the first time we've gotten that response. Please share what you find funny?

Whatever the case...it's not a joke. It's a Nationwide car club with 450+ members. We've just started up a Beaumont chapter and currently have 6 members.

Want more info? PM me or go here...www.holyrollerz.org

I'm not laughing about someone having religious beliefs. I'm laughing at the fact that people are trying to combine thier religion and an automotive hobby; two things that are totally unrelated. It's about as dumb as GayWheels (and before any smart ass remarks, someone made a post about it on another forum and I thought it was just as funny as this).

Creating a religious car club = making a car club for people who like baked potatoes. Both unrelated to the other and equally as dumb.

I respect your opinion, but respectfully disagree.

From our club members' point of view, the two are not totally unrelated. If you have religious beliefs, regardless of what your chosen religion may be, that is your lifestyle. To detach that core belief system from the rest of your life is impossible...that is if you truly live what you believe.

In short, you can't just seperate being a Christian from everything else you do in your life. I don't know you personally, but I belive you'd call those people hypocrites.

The way we see it...
Creating a religious car club = giving ourselves a group of fellow Christians to share our interests with

in case you never visited the site, here's an excerpt prepared by the Prez out in GA

About Us //
Holy Rollerz was founded by Brian Wood and Gustavo Torres in November of 1999 in Kennesaw, Ga. We are trying to get the word out on how the Lord can bless you when you abide within His will. We will strive to promote the love of the Lord in an area where He has rarely before been given the glory. Many car clubs tolerate drinking, illegal racing, profanity, and sexual promiscuity. WE DO NOT. We are trying to give young car enthusiasts a club that neither promotes nor tolerates any of these things.

Everyone has their own interests and they should have a group of friends with whom they can share those interests. We are all born again Christians, and we want to honor the Lord for the blessings he has given us. Isaiah 61:3 says that we will be "...a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor." Without Him our vehicles would not have been possible, so we created the Holy Rollerz Christian Car Club as a display of the blessings of the Lord.

I guess I was naive to think posting those photos wouldn't start a religious discussion, but that wasn't my intention. I just wanted to show off my ride. I'm not here to preach to anybody.

I hope I didn't offend anyone, but if I did...I'll be praying for you.

This is what comes to mind when i think of holy rollers:

Truck looks nice, btw.

But yea, a nationwide club with 450 members is kind of weak. Not saying it to be mean, that's just factual.

What religion do you have to practice to make it in? Not being mean, just curious as to if it's a club that restricts members based on their religious beliefs.
If you're not christian, are you not good enough to be in the club?

Thanks for digging this thread back up. I wasn't happy with the way it ended either. I don't think any of our local guys have found their way here yet...unfortunately I'm the only non-domestic vehicle in the Beaumont Chapter...so far. Roller derby chicks are rough...that's a cool site though I'm going to pass that along to the guys.

Thanks for the props on the truck.

As for the club. It is growing everyday. The numbers from the site as of this morning show 491 members and 3720 site users. Not everybody that joins the site finds the time or follows through with applying for membership. We've grown locally in the Beaumont Chapter from 3 members up to 8 members since our Chapter was formed in May.

Members of the club come form all walks of Christian denominations...notice I say members. The difference between site users and members is the application process. The application asks a series of questions that help to identify if you will represent the club true to it's values. For example, if we started a club locally called the "My Honda is Better than Your Nissan" club it might look funny if we started letting in Oldsmobiles. Kinda the same thing, weird analogy though, the application is just a check to make sure that you will in fact be representing the Christian Car Club with a certain level of the same morals and beliefs as others in the club. To say that if you aren't a Christian then you aren't good enough to be in the club is not exactly a good explanation...anybody is good enough, the applications just try to make sure that all the members are like-minded and won't misrepresent the core values of the club.

PM me if you want more info or would like to know about our local meetings.

a nationwide club with 450 memebers isnt weak........ hell i know some of the big name truck clubs like relaxed atmosphere, no regrets, and many others that have only 300-400. sory but thats a pretty big truck club. I doubt its a one of those clubs that are like hey you wanna be in our club????? cool heres you a sticker your in.... Now granted the truck club im prospecting for is severed ties. has 48 chapters with over 650 members with chapters in japan, austrailia and somewhere in england. but then again this club has been around since 1990. but just because his club doesnt have a bunch of memeber doesnt mean its weak...... i probably shouldnt cuss in a thread about a christian car club but get a fucking grip....dont flame the guy because its not something you see every day and its out of the ordinary.

post up about the local holy rollerz meets in the regional forum if there's ever an open invite. im sure some of us wouldnt mind showing up every now and then. i think a car club that represents a way of life that is often criticized and prejudiced against is a selfless act that should in no way be flamed. its one of those things that you either applaude or dont say anything at all.

its like squeezing a guys nuts with needle nose pliers simply b/c he loves his mother.

Thanks Rocky! I'll take that as a compliment.

Generally our meetings are for members or prospects but we attend tons of local and regional shows. Our next big event is Hot August Nites. We'll all be showing our cars and setup with a tent for shade and our banner flying. If anybody makes it out to the show that weekend, look us up, stop by, and say Hi.

yea severed ties is one of the hardest clubs to get into. its not all about your truck of car, its more about you as a pesron, like do you get along with everyone in the chapter your trying to get in, are you a good person in general. you have to make so many meetings in a row, go the clubs truck show every year, which by the way is the baddest fuckking truck show out there. its up for minitruckin magazines show of the year this year. its usually takes about a year or so to be voted in bc you have to know everyone by name and they have to know you as well and you also much know a majority of the other chapters in the state, and texas alone has 6. its a comitment to the lifestyle, friends and your club family. but the sign for the club is the diamond, and like they say diamonds are forever. and yea that last little show was pretty lame but a friend of ours neighbor told us to bring our trucks out there. we left early and went to wienershnizl in orange for their monthly get together.
