but i've noticed when i'm in high rpm's my exhaust is shooting small flames....
not a lot......and not consistantly but they do make an appearance every once in a while.....i'm not sure if it should scare me or not.

Pretty much. . . . running rich

Running too much oil can cause other problems, not a "rich condition".

Your car doesn't have cat's does it?

Yea, I'm going to assume the car doesn't have cat's and that to be his problem.

Flik: Most cars run a tad rich from the factory, think of it as a "safety margin". Without the cat's you will sometimes get flames. Some cars are different but, rx7's, sr20 240's, Mark's s2k shot flames with no mufflers, I wouldn't worry about it until it present a problem. I would worry most about running too much oil in the car

My MR2 turbo used to burp flames between each shift, not consistantly but enough that it was constantly brought to my attention at the next red light. It never caused any problems.

:)its completely normal for a super fast awesome car to shoot flames... I mean look at Skoodles car, that fucker shoots 3 feet of super powered purple when its sitting in the driveway. you don't wanna see it when it hits v-tek!:rotfl:

Our old dune buggys used to shoot pretty impressive flames when you let off the throttle at high RPM's.

Our "racing lawn mowers" also shot flames at times. You could only see them at night and it was probablly because we flipped them several times...
