Just wanted to give a heads up about 2 jobs available here at Motiva. A LDAR tech walks/climbs all over the units with a backpack on and a long wand that detects hydrocarbons. If you don't mind possibly having to climb tall ass towers all day then click the link and apply!

They suck climbing with radio in your back pocket much less with a backpack on.

I actually applied there for that position about a year and a half ago. When I was called in for the interview, they told me they couldn't hire me because I was in school. I laughed and explained what I was going to school for and they told me they still couldn't hire me ... faggots.

Do I need any specific degree or certification to apply for this job? What kind of pay would I expect with this job? I MUST KNOW. D:

There is no degree that would be the least helpful for a job like this. It's really a simple job, go onto the units, find the little silver tag that has the valve number on it and stick your wand up to it and see if it picks up anything. Wash, rinse, repeat, write report.

It's a pretty gravy job, and I believe they get similar pay to operators which is $33.50 right now. But either way, when you work for the company there is no bad job and everyone gets paid very well...
