Ok, so my cousin brought to my attention an interesting car. Goes by a few names, like a few other Mitsubishi vehicle. Since I've never heard of this car, I'm only assuming it's a Mitsubishi model first, Chrysler/and w/e else second. It's called a Mitsubishi Starion, and according to my cousin, which I took this info with a huge grain of salt, it came stock from the factory with a 180ish hp 4cyl, which he said had a turbo. I've yet to wiki this car, but I'm just curious, since the body style, I.M.O., isn't too bad, what ya'll think about it? I was thinkin of building something different, something not too many ppl had. If I deserved to be :slap: for this consideration that's completely understandable, not that I still wouldn't consider building one eventually.

Wonder how much it'd cost to pick one up, and since the come stock turbo, a bolt on would prly be easy.

you can probably pick one up for a under a couple grand. starion turbo's imo are cool as shit. finding one in good shape may be difficult. if you find one, buy it.

theres a few rolling around the 409, I've seen a few a blue one a few red ones and a white one that goes to khols everyonce in awhile that sounds like it has cams or the timings off lol, there a nice penny for a decent bodied one, I've seen them go from anywhere between 5k-10k from decent to excellent body motor wise it's a pretty nice motor turbo and rwd, not a lot of aftermarket performance from what I've seen, also you can put either a 350 or a ls1 and make it a beast. I'd say if you can find one your looking at 5k to 8500 for a decent one around here. fyi theres a one in groves down pure atlantic over towards nederland ave. it's always parked near pizza hut I think or dominos some pizza place down there.

Dang, Thanks for all the info, I didn't realize that they costed that much for a nice one. If I'm gunna spend that much I had my sights set on a 76-80ish model/body style porsche 944, lol, which I'm sure most ppl don't agree with, but I think they're the shit. I'll just have to wait to see what I get in a few years when I can afford that much for a project car.

I've seen a few of those in the junkyard. Cool cars but slower than dirt with stock turbo. I would rather have a 86 200SX with the v6 borrowed from the 300zx, its all motor and is faster than the conquest. they also make a 200sx with a 2.0 turbo that makes close to 180hp which is also faster stock. If you want looks and no power, I rather have a ae86

Heh, yah I wasn't expecting them to be fast stock, nor was I expecting there to be so many around. I already have me a 240, so I'm not really gunna be in the market for something of so closeness. I can definitely imagine a 300swap to be pretty quick though, specially if it were TT lol.

I have a co-worker that has one with a Grand National motor professionally installed. Wicked car.

for the price your looking at spending on a starion, you might as well get an sc300 lexus, and get new pistons and rods, and a bad ass turbo for the price your going to spend on a nice one and either a motor build or swap, and you have one fast ass car and vip statues.

This add lists one for sale. No idea condition, but for $500, i'd plan on it being a project for sure.

My oldest brother had a Dodge Conquest at one point in time...other than that they're pretty rare (or at least decent ones are).

Holy crap...I might have to go take a look at it, like you said, for $500...if it's not too bad, that might be something worth checkin into. Thanks man!

haha ive got two of these cars, ones a mitsubishi starion and the others a crysler conquest. if you want some good info. on these cars go to www.starquestclub.com i pulled the motor out of one to start building but i ended up spending the money i had saved up on a lift and to help build our shop. now ive gota stop spending money on the car/truck/bike and save up to finally build a motor for them.
2.6l turbo REAR WHEEL DRIVE and a car you never see that looks good is the reason i bought them. there for a while i was thinking about dropping a 5.0 in one but decided not to. plans are to build a decent motor for it and through the interior back into it.
