I want to see this happen, when are yall gonna do it? I think the hatch will win, but if it loses then that would be full of lulz and win.

he's basically family to me. I don't think he does the forum thing, though. If he did it would probably be to buy/sell crap.
Justin
06-24-2010, 10:13 PM
Yeah I figured you were cool with him since you built his motor mounts.Tell him I want to line up.I called him out couple times and he said he was almost out of gas or something.

I believe I know which one your talking about, did this guy recently get the ls put in or did he buy it that way.
mikesrex
06-25-2010, 01:08 PM
he bought it with the LS with a blown headgasket. So far we've had to solder every one of the wires on the ECU plugs (previous owner had them twisted and taped lol), change out the HG, rebuild the transmission, install new clutch and flywheel, make motor mounts, and probably some other stuff I can't remember. All in all I like the lil hatch. he got it for a decent price, and all the work it has needed was simple easy stuff.

pooprajoe
06-25-2010, 05:25 PM

Justin
06-25-2010, 05:56 PM
I did put a couple cars on the LS powered Teg..But I can't figure out my maf problem.I changed it out today is still having problems.I'm thinking a bad wire or something.
Justin
06-29-2010, 12:19 AM
I lost.I admit defeat. In my defense my car is still running like shit.lol His car is quick for a LS.
mikesrex
06-29-2010, 12:22 AM
cool deal, glad a run went down and yall figured out what was going on. Rambo's...oops I mean Daniel's hatch should run low 15/high 14 on the tires he is on. I could probably get some low 14 out of it and maybe even a high 13 on a pair of sticky tires. Eventually I want to spray it and get some solid low 12 out of it. That's usually what LS on a 75 shot will get on a pair of slicks.
Justin
06-29-2010, 12:27 AM
I didn't realize how bad my clutch is gone until we ran tonight.I need a new one asap.On one run I had no clutch at all and had to force it into third.Oh well. It's gonna blow or it's gonna go.lol
Justin
06-29-2010, 01:57 AM
I've already narrowed it down to a couple clutches. Are lightweight flywheels worth the money? They're like 300 bucks for the xb.
FB_RX-Seven
06-29-2010, 09:42 AM
have u talked to triangle clutch? they built mine for less than 100 with me giving them a core and mine grabs like glue even with 7500 rpm clutch dumps and sticky tires
mikesrex
06-29-2010, 11:06 AM
+1 on Triangle. Ray and his guys over there always take care me on clutch discs, flywheels and freshening up pressure plates.
Justin
06-29-2010, 01:24 PM
But wouldn't I do better with a 3 puck or something rather than my stock one rebuilt with a harder compound?
FB_RX-Seven
06-29-2010, 02:41 PM
if you get a 3 or 4 puck i think ull regret it. he didn t rebuild my stock clutch. he just used it for the core charge and gave me another clutch with a stronger pressure plate.... idk what material the clutch is made of but it grabs really strong but isnt like an on/off switch. still has some slippage for driving in traffic and stuff
mikesrex

I usually throw in a 4-puck unsprung in everything lol. don't get the kevlar one. get the metallic one he has. it may be called organometallic or something like that, can't remember.
Justin
06-29-2010, 05:16 PM
How much would that cost?
mikesrex
06-30-2010, 11:39 PM
crap didn't notice your last post lol
the 4 puck unsprung disc is usually around 92 bucks when I get one for a teg
Justin
06-30-2010, 11:50 PM
Isn't unsprung alot stiffer than sprung?I want a beast ass clutch, but don't want it annoyingly hard to daily my car.

can your tranny handle a unsprung clutch?....i know some cars trannies cant handle them
mikesrex
07-01-2010, 12:08 AM
if you think the shock of the clutch engaging might break something, get a 4-puck sprung. I'm so used to Honda transmissions, I can sidestep the clutch at 9500 with no worries out of the hole and then full throttle shift with no clutch the rest of the way down the track lol.
